This summer was a blast, there’s no question about it. The trips, the rides, getting that time in with friends and family… and not to mention the awesome events that happened all over the province. Most importantly, the 2016 Wasaga Beach Motorcycle Rally!

The rally this year was bigger and badder than any other. Everyone had a great time — the people were friendly, the food was great and the musical guests were out of control. It also had, by far, the largest turnout of any past Wasaga Beach Motorcycle Rally! And we mean… by a lot. This year there was a turn out of over thirty thousand riders! That’s an increase from the eight thousand riders who rode into town in 2015. It was amazing to see how much the event has grown. And we’ve got good news to fill you in on:

We’re excited to announce that Riders Plus Insurance is going to be the Title Sponsor of the 2017 Wasaga Beach Motorcycle Rally!

We’re proud to be apart of something so big and community-oriented. We take pride in all of the riders who we protect and we’re excited to show it by helping make next year’s rally even bigger and better than 2016! Even though the next rally is almost a full year away, that doesn’t mean we can’t start getting excited about it now. And what better way to start than taking a ride back into what made this year such a success:

We can’t start without mentioning how great Wasaga Beach is. Wasaga is the world’s longest stretch of freshwater beach, so it’s no secret that it’s one of the best beaches in Ontario. Wasaga is definitely an awesome destination for a motorcycle rally, and we took every opportunity we got to soak up the sun and the water.

Some of the highlights of this year’s rally included the Heels On Wheels Ride, The Mayor’s Ride, Twisty’s Ride and all of the musical acts that took the Beach Stage. Some of the talent to take the stage included Bad to the Bone, Smashtones, the Travelling Beer Bellies, Soul Tripper, Green River Revival and After the Lounge! These bands rocked out hard and we are excited to see who’s going to rock the Beach Stage at next year’s event.

Check out this video of Green River Revival’s hard-blues covers of Little Richard and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins tunes! Mike Slute is taking lead vocals and guitar with Joe Brett, Lorne Scriver, and Brian Jennings also rocking to the bone. There’s a reason these dudes are North America’s premier CCR tribute group!
