How home insurance works through Riders Plus

Riders Plus is a broker, so we shop your home insurance across the companies we work with instead of selling one insurer’s product. You describe the home once, we come back with the options, and you choose. If your bike or car is already with us, we can quote the house alongside them.

What we need to quote a home policy

  • The address, and roughly when the house was built.
  • What it’s built of, the age of the roof, and any updates to the wiring, plumbing or heating.
  • How the place is used: your own home, a rental, or a seasonal property.
  • Any claims in the last few years.

Bundling your home with a vehicle policy

Insurers we work with commonly offer a multi-policy discount when your home and your vehicles sit with the same company. What it comes to depends on the insurer, the property and the vehicles, so we won’t put a number on it before we’ve run the quote. What we will do is show you the separate cost and the bundled cost side by side and let you pick.

Talk to a licensed broker

Call 1-877-251-4504, or 416-251-1447 for the office, or send us your details and a broker will get back to you. Coverage can’t be bound or changed without speaking to a licensed broker first.

This page explains how we arrange home insurance. It isn’t advice about your own policy, and what’s actually covered is set out in the wording your insurer issues. Insurance in Ontario is regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario.
